 It's hot down under - 100F = (9/5 x 38C) + 32

Good luck in 2007.

Eric.

    Looks like you've remembered your Science classes Ron...very accurately, I might add.

  Yes, it's a curse. Kind of like remembering the square root of 2 or 3 or Avogadro's Number. BUT I sometimes have trouble remembering what I had for lunch, or where, or even if.

        the actual conversion is F = (9/5)*C +32.
        You can test the conversion factor easilly.
        -40F = -40C and 212 F = 100 C. (simultaneous equation solving on those two is how the conversion formula is derived)

      Not to quibble (he quibbled) , the two conditions for which the equation was developed were the freezing point and boiling point of water. 0C = 32F and 100C = 212F. -40F or C was a result of the equation, not a criteria in its development.

            We don't know what 38C is. Sounds cold. Happy NewYear. Nat
          Easy way approximation:

          F=(Cx2) + 30

          F=(38x2) + 30

          F= 106 = Damn hot!
