[NSRCA-discussion] Slow day on list... (was: Re: Lasers)

I went into "building mode"

I had been thinking of revising the nose for a while to get rid of my
strange motor mount by extending the firewall forward appx 2.5 inches. And I
have been wanting to be able to swap batteries without removing the prop and
the entire cowl.

I now have a hatch in the bottom of the cowl, batteries slide in easilly in
seconds instead of appx 3 min to get at them and another 3 min to button the
nose back up.

But.. its a little harder to plug the wires in... I now have to hold the
ESC's bullets with forceps. (very carefully....) relocating the ESC would
be one solution, but that might give me problems cooling it.

I can use the connection between batteries as my safety plug (two 3S LiPos
in series) unplug there to disarm the prop, as those wires are still
accessable with the hatch on. (through the original rear cut-out in the
belly of the cowl)

I'm still looking for an appropriate fuse holder for a 40 amp fuse to
protect the power system and use as my motor arming switch... (automotive
type modern blade style prefered. I have the fuses).

My planes are never really done... they are always getting small
modifications, sometimes major changes.
