Hi Fred,

You are correct that for sportsman you do not need a 2m plane to
win.....unless you have someone with a 2m plane that can fly it to its
full potential (not likely in sportsman as you know because there are
too many other things to learn).

I've judged Sportsman and have seen many pilots flying average aerobatic
planes fly and score higher than guys with 2m birds....the
reason....they flew the best geometry etc.

Most of the Masters guys I've flown with and against are recruiters,
they are the CD's, contest promoters and boosters to pattern here in the
Midwest..... One great example is Dan Curtis out of Springfield MO.

The Masters guys I fly with don't believe you need a 2m bird for
sportsman and promote sportsman pilots every way possible. At all
contests I attend we are overjoyed when there's a good sportsman turnout
and we are lecturing each other to recruit when there is not. I'm
satisfied that a lot of guys really do get it....and do care.

Chris

When someone who actually does start trying to fly Sportsman tries to
give input on how to attract more people to Sportsman... the Elitist
snobs who are flying Maters would rather nitpick on technicalities than
listen to the real issue the relative beginner to the sport is trying to
address.

You ARE Elitists...

"Your plane must not be good enough... get a better one" IS NOT the
correct response to a beginner to Sportsman saying the new sequence
requires more performance than the old sequence.

You want to attract people... you are certainly doing the EXACT wrong
thing. And when its pointed out... you attack the messenger for telling
you about it.

I'm about ready to scrape the NSRCA logos off my model...
