I think I read 'Stranger..' and 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance'
in roughly the same period--came away from both with roughly the same

Dean will probably prove me wrong, but I remember it is from Stranger in a
Strange Land by Robert Heinlein. Means have a deep understanding of
something in every sense, if I recall correctly.
