Mike,
If you don't hunt just borrow a shotgun from one of your neighbors...save the money for fuel or servos.

Mike - just let him know that the foam "hot-wire" shaves off flesh just as easy as it does foam..

Yep, about 8-10 in the slow months. It can be much more depending on what's going on. After the Nats for instance, or officers changing, anything with a lot of new stuff to condense.
it's more than worth the effort, and is very rewarding in it's own way.
As for why I'm resigning, it mainly has to do with spare time. You can probably figure out just by casually looking that I'm busy, but my son has begun to require a lot of surgeries again, which designates me Mr. Mom. That's cool, I love spending time with my kids, but it doesn't leave any time for much else. heck my oldest daughter came in the other night and introduced her boyfriend...her first "real" one....and seems she's been "dating" him for over a month and nobody thought to tell me about it! Talk about a wake up call....time to go shotgun shopping, this IS Georgia ya know...
Seriously I really don't think I can keep the schedules up and do the K Factor the service it needs right now. I really hope someone with a lot of fire and enthusiasm steps up to take on this really important task. You guys deserve better than I can deliver right now. That's really the bottom line.
So, I'll still be contributing and halping any way I can, but someone else needs to take on the role of editor. Realize going in that it's a lot of work, and you have to want to do it! The specifics are just details and are not that difficult to get in tune with.
So I wish the new editor the best, whoever it turns out to be, and I'm just a phone call or an email away.
You guys as a group are the greatest bunch of people in the world, and I'm honored to have been able to serve you in this capacity!
Thanks,
-Mike

Mike Hester has done a wonderful job with the K-Factor over the past year or so but he is feeling a lot of pressure from his job/family that he needs to devote some time to this year and needs to hand over the reigns as editor to someone else.
If there is anyone out there that would like to put their stamp/influence on the K-Factor and take over the editor role from Mike, we'd love to hear from you. The job requires about 8-10 hours a month of work (Mike, please correct me if I'm wrong). I really don't want to take back the role of editor again... I've had it 3 times over the past 6 years or so.
Please email me offline if you are interested...
-Derek
