Haiku may be short but I hate counting syllables. I prefer limericks.

Don't get me wrong, I like Lance's poetry. It beats the heck out of Vl'hurg poetry, for example.
Maybe it's cause I'm lazy and Haiku are short.

Perry inspired me to respond in kind.

Now I sit at my keyboard
        Opening email, starting Word
A meeting is about to start
My name is paged, I need to be smart
As I stand and look toward the lot
With cars in rows and every slot
I see the sun glint off their hoods
The flag rests as motionless as it could
The sun is bright my heart is full
It looks to be warmer than usual
Now I think about my plane
        Charging in my Expedition
Can I skip out and leave this place
There's still enough day left, it'll be a race
My friends have the same thought as I
The field is crowed and the skies
Several flights with critique and chatter
        Take place among the laughter
As the day winds down to dark
We carefully wipe down each part
It's then I think about all that work
And I give a grin and guilty smirk
        Tomorrow I will surely pay
        Unless its another perfect day
