    Ken,
I've had tons of fun experimenting with this Blucor flat foam stuff. Built them in sizes from 30" to 47.5" W.S. The basic problem with all these low mass aircraft is that they have too low a wing loading so they are highly susceptable to even slight air turbulence making it a real chore to try to get them to groove, or at least make it look like they are grooving. On the other hand, they can be flown in winds that you wouldn't fly even a sport bird and can be made to fly backwards fairly fast in strong winds at reduced throttle settings. Gets lots of shouts from the peanut gallery !
Some guys claim that the instability is caused by the lack of airfoil, but I have one of the 47.5" jobs that is amazingly smooth equaling a good 46 size glow ship and even handles very well in moderate breezes.
The great part about the fun enhancement is the fact that you can throw one together in just a few days from drawing the outline to arriving at the flying field. They're not indestructable, but if you can fly attentatively you can make them last for quite some time as I have one that is 3 &1/2 years old now. Configurations can include built-up, profile, or what have you, the limitations are your imagination.
With batteries now costing < $20 for 1600 ma, you can basically fly all day. I bought 3 sets for $65 (total) and they come with the high current Deans connector already soldered on.
Blucor material cost runs $1.25 / model. You can pick up a Hitec 05S receiver for 23 bucks from Tower and it has sixth channel function on channel five enabling flaperon control which can really spice things up if you're so inclined.
Oh, I tried one out of Depron and didn't like working with that material. The Blucor is much more user friendly.

I hope I didn't overwhelm you and give you more than you asked for, but I get a little caried away, so please forgive me if I came on too strong.
    Georgie

      Hey Georgie,

For me, crashing seems to part of the testing program, no shame in that.

If you could do me a favor and keep me informed with your progress, it's an sweet looking plane!

        Hi Ken,
Yup, .....crashed it too. Trying to hover too close to the ground on low rates. It was a design effort to try to achieve a small foamy (15 oz.) that would track like a larger model and it came close, thus the name (being electric). Have another one that I scaled down to two/thirds size and maintained all the good virtues. An overall fun exercise.
Just wanted to see if I had mastered the "photo to list" quandry. Not sure if I can do it again.
        Georgie
