I have to echo Mark's comments . . . . . a celebrity presence does so much to encourage newcomers. They can see you are regular guys (who just happen to fly the snot out of RC airplanes)

you watch a famous pilot fly in a contest? I watched Ed Kazmirski fly a
Taurus in Dayton, OH contest in 1964. I also watched Pappy deBolt fly the
same year. In subsequent years I watched Tom Brett, Phil Kraft and Cliff
Weirick.
