[NSRCA-discussion] Rule 8.1.1

Certainly there will be some practice, but will you be competative? I was going to go to the Nats a couple of years ago, just for the experience. I would have gotten my arse handed to me, I know that, but I was going to go anyway, just for the experience.
As for Sportsman, yes points are earned and there are rules for moving up. If you complete a contest and finish first, second or third and above 4 or more contestants that have recorded an official flight, you must move up the following year.

I'm sure there will be some practice before the big show. And if you practice intermediate for the NATS, Why go back? Sportsman is an introductory class, to compete on a local level. Are points earned? Do you HAVE to move up eventually? Just thinking out loud.

An advantage? With a half a dozen flights under your belt?
BTW: The rule states...you may compete in "any" contest in the next higher class, "if" your class isn't offered...you may then go back to the class you were flying previously in subsequent contests.

O.K. Sportsman is not offered at the NATS. Plain and simple. After participating in Intermediate at the NATS, would you not have an advantage over Sportsman fliers at a local contest? I don't have a problem with it. Some may. By the way, Muncie is the finest facility I've ever seen. We've spent much time, money and effort developing this magnificent headquarters. It's where the NATS belongs.
