Jay -
you might consider using teflon in lieu of the silicone. I've been using the
PTFE tubing
McMaster Carr part #
5239K19<javascript:TargetLink('TR911','tr','PT9111','5239K19');>,
about $5-6 per foot, held in place w/ spring clamps McMaster Carr #
7329K15<javascript:TargetLink('TR579','tr','PT5791','7329K15');> about
$5 per pkg for years on my 140RX w/ Mac header to ES / Aeroslave pipe. 1500
-2500 flights on the stuff so far // lengths as long as 6" - have never
damaged / blown a piece yet.

These part numbers will get you tubing and clamps that work w/ 7/8 dia pipe
(Heat the tubing w/ a lighter and stretch w/ a screwdriver knob end or
similar...). The McMaster catalog lists lots of other sizes on the same
page.

Hope this helps -
Rick
