John, if you have an old card, or some proof you may be able to sorta get
your old number back. Call AMA and ask them. Their records got lost or
messed up, fire or something, sometime in the 60s. I tried to get my old
number from 1946 when I strted flying again and was told there were no old
records. I finally found an old card as proof and sent it in. I got my old
number with th re-up year number in front of the old number ie 7012632 guess
that means something to their record keeping.
