No doubt it is more effective when advertised in advance.  Not to dwell on the old days, but when pattern was the happening event, it was a given the pilots of the day would be at the pattern contest.

Gray - you are legendary as a "Cool Pattern Dude" from the list alone.  And for anyone who hasn't met Gray (and his partner in crime Lance), they are indeed cool dudes to hang with.

It would only be a draw if it could be promoted ahead of time. With the exception of the Green Sea event earlier this year I can’t recall any other promotions of this nature.

I dunno Dave...I have been to 4 local pattern meets and it does not seem to affected attendance -other than Chris coming from OK to hang out with the "Cool Pattern Dudes".
