Scott,
    Fred stated what works for Sportsman - his Quest is an EXCELLENT plane 
for Sportsman.
    I also fly intermediate, both a Meridian and a Prophecy.  The Quest 
would work well for part or all the first season of Intermediate.
    The Quest is a small plane for intermediate but Not sportsman and 
getting your feet wet in intermediate.  Particularly electric.

    You are right about the extra power and a 2 meter plane.  In 
indermediate and advanced it is a MUST.  Good luck in Advanced next season.
