Hi Bill,
I can give a starter recommendation...Sullivan Hi-Tork with a Wal-Mart
garden battery for power. I haven't seen anything glow that it won't
turn over and I use it on inverted mounted 160's.

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] OS120AX Run/Set-Up Problem
HI....I have a new OS120AX that I put in a Quest
airplane. The engine is mounted inverted. The fuel
tank is at the airplane CG and I'm using a VP-30 Perry
regulataing punp. I have the low end needle valve (OS
calls it the mixture control valve) at it's maximun
lean position, but it isn't lean enough. I had the
same problem with an OS50SX and fixed the problem by
modifying the low end needle valve so that it could be
adjusted beyound the designed maximum lean position.
The 120 is a different design and cannot be fixed the
same way. The basic problem is that the Perry pump is
putting out too much pressure at the minimum presssure
setting and this results in too much fuel being
delivered at idle. If the taper on the main needle
valve was changed to allow it to engage deeper into
the mixture control valve at the idle setting, this
would fix the problem, however, I'm not sure I could
accurately and precisely change the taper. Any
suggestions?
Also, my starter doesn't have enough torque to turn
over the 120, so I have been starting it by hand. The
problem here is that I cannot start it with the engine
inverted. The fuel just drips out of the carburator
(onto the ground) and is not sucked into the engine.
When I turn the airplane up side down it consistently
starts with the first flip. Obviously I need a higher
torque starter so that a higher turning rate (RPM)
will develop the sucking powrer to pull the fuel into
the engine. Any suggestions on a starter that will do
the job?
Thanks in advance for your help.
