[NSRCA-discussion] Streamline - 2

Jay,
Too bad you're having problems. As I mentioned, I saw the Streamline when I
bought a 40-size Spitfire from the same company. I finally got a chance to
work on the Spitfire. So far it's going along pretty smoothly. Maybe because
I wasn't expecting too much, I am pleasantly surprised. The PDF on CD
documentation is kind of lame but quite frankly there's not much need for
instructions. There are only a few parts to assemble. One thing missing is
the engine mounting dimension from the firewall (distance from the firewall
to the thrust washer). I can figure this out but it would have been nice to
have it called out somewhere. I should definitely have it finished by the
weekend - an all around super-easy build. The overall alignment seems pretty
good and the finish is acceptable for a $100.00 ARF.
Don't do anything with the thrust line unless you really have some good
ideas in mind. FYI a Super Kaos Jr. flies with 0-0-0 alignment so just put
everything together as is. If, after you fly it you feel the need for thrust
angle changes, then have at it. The Spitfire does have built-in thrust
offset (right) so it's not likely they omitted it on the Streamline unless
they had a good reason. The firewall on the Spitfire has marks for the
thrust datum's too. I wonder why they're not on the Streamline?
