Hey Bob,
I Aero-glossed mine….(orange…best flying ∏ A stunter I had flown…) but you
should have seen me doing a “Lil Satan” in transparent blue monokote for my
 cousinJ
Oh, the smells of Aero-Gloss….God only knows how many brain-cells I paid for
that experienceJ

Reminds me of the first time I used Monokote. I was attempting to cover a
Goldberg Li'l Jumpin Bean. My Mom's iron was almost as big as the plane!!!

IIRC, the instructions said to set the iron for "permanent press". :-)

Back then (1969??) the Monokote instructions actually showed a regular iron.

Solarfilm was a lot easier to use, but did not add much stiffness to a wing.

'Bout the mid-late sixties, I can remember Mom showing Dad and myself how to
monokote a corner properly,
before we figured out that working with a clothes iron would build strong
muscles!
Seems she was frustrated watching us mess up.

I was around then. Didn't invent It though. I did get chewed out for using
my wife's iron to apply Mono-Cote and Cover All.
