OK, guys; I bit the small bullet and bought a 10 pack-(1) for Orland, (1)
for me and (1) for reserve. Leaves (7). Let's see.... 300% mark-up would
be....Naaah... Cost is $4.65/14.1oz tube plus UPS. Re-email me with
shipping instructions and I'll send the total with the stuff at cost.
First come and all that.... Shell Stamina RLS 2 Grease (HLP) Stk. No.
7207121998(Don't know if that's Allied Oil's or Shell's) If there is
enough of a market, I could have the Co. carry it-but it would be about
7.78/tube plus shipping and handling.

Richard

Shell Stamina RL2 is a synthetic poly-urea grease that works well.
Unfortunately it's a little hard to come by - usually only available from
jobbers. (This stuff was recommended by friends who work in the Shell
Technology Center - Grease Research Group basis the gearbox operating
conditions.)

As any grease will work to the sides of the gears eventually - a re-grease
interval around 40 or so flights is to be expected. Maybe more critical are
the roller bearings in the planet gears - same situation with grease
migration and very important to pack these bearings fully during
re-greasing. (Make sure not to lose the small washers on the "pins" and to
install the gears so that you can read the logo on the bearings.)
