Jim and all-well- my stupidity at times even amazes myself<G>.

It is indeed and oval screw I'm looking for and for all the times I've shopped at Mcmaster-Carr, I completely forgot about them!!!

I'll check the places mentioned and report back.

Boy -this list IS THE BEST!!!

Thanks

Tom

Tom,

Actually, what a truss head screw profile looks like is a very thin pan-head style. The one you described is actually called an oval head screw. THis link will show you all the different head types: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screw

To find a 4-40 screw that is indeed truss or oval head, try www.fastener-express.com
I also have an Aviall across the street from the airport I work at, I can call and see if they have them that small.

Hi again all,

Not much input from me lately on this list-but I was wondering if anyone can help me out.

I have been searching just about everywhere on the planet for the following:

4-40 x 3/4 Truss head Phillips , black in colour.

Now if I'm correct, truss head, means oval on the top and countersunk for the seat?

Sorry to bring my predicament to the attention of the list-but I'm about to go nuts about this. Surely somewhere on the planet someone makes these?

Thanks for any help.

Tom
