Great idea Bob! I just made a bunch, 1.5gm per 11 inch section.
50mm wide strips seems to be about right (you get 4 per sheet plus a little
left over for a mask on the next step.) I painted on a 1/4 wide glue strip
of thinned white glue on one edge and let that dry. After wrapping around
the dowel, hit the seam with the sealing iron and you're done.

I make my own by rolling regular printer paper around
a wood dowel and gluing the edge with some white wood
glue. Just a 1/4" overlap will do.
