The best place to get the BME is from Jeff at http://www.e-flightline.com/

I also highly recommend his Cobri gear box and himax 2025-5300 motor combo. Although I think a 5.7/1 ratio used with a 12x6 E (NOT the slowfly) prop is better than the ratio they were recommending. There are some awesome videos on his site of Kyle W. flying the plane.

The Cobri/Himax inrunner is better than the outrunner setups in my mind for two reasons - throttle response is much crisper and you can fine tune gear ratios to suit any plane/prop combo over a much wider range of speed/thrust/power ranges. Lots more options.

The outrunners are of course much simpler and run quieter. I like the way the inrunner fly much better.

In the beginning of that RC Groups thread I posted are pictures of how to do the motor mounting and some recommended mods.

On the BME I recommend the following mods -

Power system: Cobri 5.7/1 box/Himax 2025-5300, 12x6 APC E, TP 2100 prolites
I like the Futaba S3110 servos. Lots of torque and fast and center well. On the down side - they strip kind of easily and have short leads and come with no mounting screws - but they are a very good price. Definitely better than HS55's or S75's.
Glue the wings on permanently
Reinforce the cowl with some tape on the inside edge.
Up-Grade landing gear to the first ones shown here at the top of the page listed for the mini Funtana. They fit great and are 5 times as strong.

I always add a stearable tailwheel - the Dubro 40 size works well.

Jeff also caries the Extreemflight extra, but doesn't show it on his page yet.

3D Hobby shop carries the Extra and http://www.atlantahobby.com/shopexd.asp?id=6017 is the distributor I believe. All are good people to deal with.

On my Extra I'm running a Hacker A30-16M with APC 12x6 E and TP 2100 prolites. Its got tons of power but I'm pushing motor and batts to the upper edges of their limits. Lots of throttle management needed. Next version will have an inrunner on a Cobri gear box - probably the small Neu - haven't decided which wind yet. The Torque power system recommended by Atlanta hobby has gotten consistent good reviews too.

The best servos for the Extra seem to be the Hitec HS65's. A tad heavier than the Futabas and a good bit slower and twice the price, but the gear train has zero slop and they don't strip out as easily. They work very well on 6 volts with a seperate BEC.
