I don't think FMA is warm and fuzzy about a 3c rate in the airplane. 1C
in-3C out.

Yeah, I've always been confused by this too. The only reason I can see to
keep
an eye on these babies is so that when they blow, it might be possible for
the
LFD to arrive in time to save the last wall of the house in case it's still
standing. Let's face it, if your baby sitting the pak and it blows what are
the
options for corrective action. An extinguisher is totally useless and can
you
get close enough to it to throw some sand on it?
At this point I am of the opinion that a really good ballancing charger is
your
best protection based on information presented at the WRAM show by FMA
regarding
their Kokam Paks. These guys are stating that it is now safe to charge your
paks
"in the airplane" and at a 3C rate and you should expect upwards of 400
cycles.
They are also experimenting with 10C rates which equates to all that stuff
we
heard of this week about the Makita stuff. The times they are achangin'
boys!
