Well, Charlie Reed was actually my yardstick.  He was ten years older  
than me and I always told him that I knew I had ten years of  
competition left as long as he was still competing.  Charlie died  
last year.

Don Lowe is also ten years older than me, so I guess I'll have to  
start using him as my yardstick.  As far as me competing with Don  
Lowe, that's a laugh.  Don has always been head and shoulders better  
than me in R/C aerobatics.  He taught me how to fly pattern in  
Dayton, OH back in the 1960s and i've always tried to emulate his  
smooth flying technique.  I'd love to go head to head against Don  
Lowe in a contest, but we both know the outcome.
