Thanks.  It was pretty weird stuff they did: evacuated the fluid from  
the eye, pushed the pieces from the macular hole up against the back  
of my eye and filled the eye with inert gas to hold the macula pieces  
there while it healed (shall I stop now?).  The eye has refilled  
itself about 3/4 with fluid so far.   I have a meniscus between the  
fluid and gas that I can see and it's strange to watch it slosh as I  
move my head (OK,  I'll stop).  Recovery from the surgery is supposed  
to take six to eight weeks.  I can't say that I'm thrilled with the  
result, almost five weeks after the surgery.  I may need to go  
through the surgery again.

In the meantime, I will try to fly a foamy this week, after watching  
John Fuqua flying his new Impact today.  I think I could see his  
airplane well enough with my good eye to fly it.
