[NSRCA-discussion] NiMH Question, now Banshee kit.

They are still available. I ordered a set today and the order was accepted
and acknowledged.
Anybody want to buy my J & J kit? I'd rather scratch build from the plans
anyway.

  Hi Dean:
Aha! Didn't know that. I will check and see if the plans are still
available, otherwise, I guess I can ask Jim if we can pull his down off the
wall for some measurements.

  Thanks
  Ed

    Hi Ed,
You need to get a real set of plans for the Banshee from Flying Models.
The tail moment on the kit was shortened by a couple of inches, so that
J&J could get the fusde sides into a shorter box.
The kit plane had a Kwik-Fly dance, while Jim Matrin's did not.

      Bob:
Any chance you know where to get a foam core for the Banshee? I've
got an original wood kit, but the wing ribs included were for the wrong
model, some kind of fixed chord design.

      Thanks
      Ed

        Dean,

Speaking of really old pattern stuff, I held something in my hands
today that you probably have not seen in 25 years. A NIB fiberglass Banshee.
:-) Funny thing was, it was a kit that I bought new about 30 years ago, and
I was able to track it down through 3 other owners.

If you pick a good low-leakage Schottky diode like an MBR1100,
then there won't be any problem with the diode leakage discharging the
battery, and the voltage drop would leave ! you with better than 4.4V on a
5-cell pack with one open. You can buy them at Digi-Key www.digikey.com .

          later,

Yeah, I remember seeing those ads in some REALLY old magazines.

Remember the old Orbit ads with the picture of someone flying
his plane and then showing the battery with one "cutaway" cell?
