[NSRCA-discussion] NiMH Question, now Banshee kit.

Hi Bob,
No I don't ... But I'll bug the Editor to put a tape measure to the mylar master they print from, for the plan service.
Kit manufacturers have been shortening tail moments on designs to get into a shorter, cheaper, carboard kit box, for years.
Explain a SIG Kiwi, any other way!
The late Mr. Goldberg used to do elaborate zig-zag scarf joints on his fuse sides and doublers to get the price benefits
(shorter wood stock, the box, and the shipping) and all builders did was gripe about a couple more glue joints.
The result was designs like the Kiwi and Kougar, that ran out of elevator power in the flare, unless landing speeds were kept artificially high above stall.
Next time a Sport flyer asks why Pattern shhips have long tails, ask 'em why their planes have them so short.

later,
Dean

Dean,

Do you know how long the fueselage was? I measured the fiberglass fuse and it was almost 48 inches. I wonder if Jim's was that long.
