[NSRCA-discussion] First day out with OS 140RX (somewhat long)

Don's site says that only 3.7 ounces of material was added to a 450 square
inch wing panel. Monocote is lighter than that, and Ultracote lite is far
lighter by about 2.7 ounces per wing. I am talking about 2 ounces for both
sides of *both* wings total. Glass it or silk it and paint it lighter than
that. I claim it is impossible. Perhaps that is a little too strong a
statment. 3.7 ounces is way too heavy. This is a very weak statement. Not
criticism. I'm sure they look nice, but we are talking about precision
competition airplanes.

I'm pretty tempted to believe that you can do it for less than the
weight of Monokote!
G.

I would like to see somebody paint a set of wings using just 2 ounce
of
total material, then I will start painting wings. Anybody (Matt?)
have a
formula for that?

David
