Hate to add fuel to the fire but what we in Pattern use as criteria to fly 
and judge snaps and what other flying desciplines (model or full scale) call 
snaps, are probably not exactly identical. Based on Pattern criteria, the videos 
Jimbo showed us actually show barrel rolls. I saw no rapid autoration about 
the cg but rather the cg barrelling around in a spiral fashion.

Snaps are not particularly difficult to fly correctly with proper model 
set-up. Sure, model design has everything to do with how (or even whether) a model 
will snap but proper set-up for the design you have is a must. 

They persist in being some of the most difficult if not THE most difficult to 
judge correctly. We have discussed all kinds of approaches to judging snaps 
ad nauseum and have no more buy in now than ever before it seems. 

The current definition of what a snap must show to be considered a snap was 
pointed out in Don Ramsey's response. This will be the set of judging criteria 
we are going to use at the Nats. I suggest that all take another look at Don's 
comments, study that and use it. And please, please, please, no individual 
interpretations on what is or isn't a snap. They don't belong, particularly now 
just before the big tournament.

Jim, just remember Andersonville and you'll be fine. Your Aggressor snaps 
fine, just make sure you use elevator and rudder (and I think lower rate aileron) 
in the whole snap and it'll look good. IMAC and Pattern are 2 different 
events.

In the take off, I would say that the plane broke and did an snap in the 
first snap.  It appears that in the last part the pilot decided not to bail the 
snap and just rolled.  Therefore, it is a zero since the maneuver was called 
double snap take off.  I will do the same since it was close to the mother earth. 
 The other tape is not as clear so it is difficult to judge.

Just my opinion if I were judging.
