[NSRCA-discussion] Trimming question

Hi Bob,
Well there is an awful lot of fuselage below the stab, and the shape of the canopy and turtledeck (what a funny word!) has a lot to do with it.'
It might have to be huge, in order to work. What do you want ... it's scale! That's not to mention that all this trimm stuff is part art, part science.
I know that a full-scale Decathlon requires about 1/2 opposite aileron and about 1/4 down elevator to fly straight in a four-point.

later,
Dean

Dean,

I tried that with my Cap21, and it made no detectable difference. Maybe I did not make it big enough, I don't know.

It is funny you mentioned this at this time. My son is just getting into the hobby (and getting me back into it). We were rummaging through all my old stuff, and we found the "experimental" dorsal fin from the Cap the other day.

That's why Nat has fixed so many belly pitches, over the years, with a dorsal (bac! kside) strake, filling in the "hole" in the side area, in front of the fin.
