Slightly off topic, but I work with a lady that bought a brand new firebird when she graduated from college back in 1978 and is still driving it. I was in it about 6 months ago and it had over 630,000 miles. Now thats how you save money on transportation! The heads have never been off, but she has rebuilt the transmission at least once that she remembers.

I still have legs: they don't look like worn off stumps, now do they? Okay, they are kinda funny looking, but that's an entirely different subject.

The first one was a Renault 18, the second an R21, also called a Medallion, here in the States.
Hey, they won the F1 World championship ...

Hello All,
Don't get the idea that I unconditionally prefer a US nameplate vehicle. When Detroit wasn't making an economical, Pattern plane sized station wagon, I bought import.
It wasn't a brand many of you would have considered, and I got a quarter million miles out of it, so I bought another, right after. I got a quarter million miles out of that one too.

Subject: Re: [NSRCA-discussion] Toyota
I'm with you Dean. I prefer Fords. I have had better luck with my US cars than my 91 Toyota Previa, and 2 Honda's. I now have a 2003 Windstar that I love and a 97 Taurus that has been extremly reliable. One other factor is pricing with all the incentives I bought a pretty well equiped Windstar for $21,500 in 2003. That is money that equates to a real savings over the Honda or the Toyota which sell at a premium price. I for one can't justify the price difference. I hope people keep hating American cars so I can continue to get them cheap. Thanks to all who are helping me out. Mike

You know, it's a terrible shame that after taking a deserved heck of a beati! ng for truly poor reliability/design back in the seventies,
Detroit has honest-to-for-really turned their act around ... and they don't get credit for it!
My Grand Caravan with the Stow n'Go seats is a marvellously practical vehicle.
