Hank, while I share some of your concern, on the brighter side, that is a  
significant improvement in participation from the previous election.  That  has 
been the story in District 7 for the past few years. A slow but steady  
increase in participation, new flyers, new contests, etc.  
 
I would also add that we had 2 good candidates that I am sure some people  
did not have a preference who won and decided not to vote.  Not trying to  make 
things sound better than reality but in actuality, a greater than 50%  turnout 
in voting is not shabby considering that some members 'decide' to renew  late 
anyway and bypass voting.
