[NSRCA-discussion] Foamy for pattern practice

My problem is limited thrust. The pack gives me about 5 mins of flight all straight and level. Loops, stall turns etc are out of the question. My auw is probably closer to 8oz so I should not have expected much out of the 340 pack.

Hi Colin,

When you say that you are short on power, do you mean you lack thrust at
full power or you are just not getting much duration out of the packs? 
I know when I started flying my foamie outdoors this winter, I was only
getting 2 - 3 minutes out of a pack that would normally give me 10 - 12
minutes indoors. The duration was so bad I initially thought I had put
a partially discharged pack on the plane. A fellow club member
suggested wrapping my batteries in one or two layers of the 1-2mm foam
packing sheet to help retain a little heat and that brought my outdoor
times back in line with what I was getting indoors. Just FYI, I'm using
2C Kokam 340s Etec 450s on a EPP foamy (4.9 oz. AUP w/340s).
