Well, if we refer back to what the original intent of the district champions 
were,  I believe it was to encourage regional/district competition within a 
given district amongst the fliers in that given district. The Nats if you 
could attend, was to pick the National champs of each class. Granted that 
isn't the only or sole purpose of any of these ideas but the district champ 
was left up to each VP to organize and structure to their feel and needs to 
encourage and reward pilots for active participation as I recall.  Maybe it 
is time to change the intent or name of the program. I don't have an opinion 
one way or the other. It has never effected me nor will it ever effect me 
personally.
