Ron, the problem with that approach is if you have someone that lives close
to a district border and the bordering district happens to have a weaker
class than the person's primary district. I've seen the stronger district go
back and forth between D6 and our neighbor D3 (prior to Louisiana joining
D6).  There have been times that it's much easier to rack up points in
Intermediate or Advanced in our neighbor D3, and other times it's easier in
D6.

I think it would be a shame if the best pilot of a particular district lost
their district championship because someone on the border of their district
earned a lot of points in a weaker district.

I feel NATS is the place to compare yourself to everyone in the country and
District contests are where the district champ should be chosen from.
