Gentlemen,

Is this only specific to the 72 meg receivers?? I have not had any problems at all-you have me spooked a little! What is the actual cause of the lock out problems described??

At the time, no one new anything about shortening the antenna. I just ordered another G3, and planned on sending the offending receiver back in.
I figured I'd need more than one G3 receiver anyway, so getting another was no big deal. I plan on shortening the antenna as specified, but haven't had a chance to do it yet. I'm going to use an old sport plane, just in case. It was weird though, only the throttle channel had a problem. It would lock at high throttle for a couple extra seconds, then start responding like normal. Kind of spooky having it start doing it right in the middle of a contest round. I was glad that it was throttle and not something like elevator. I had it do it a day before, but figured it was something to do with antenna routing or a vibration thing. Repadded the receiver and shifted the antenna route, and it all went away. Thought I had it solved...
Thought wrong!

Rex,

Thanks for the information. I'm anxious to try it and I'll let you know what I find. Have you tried shortening your receive antenna like Futaba is recommending? Have you tried the G3 receiver again?

Arch

I've done exactly what you are talking about trying. My G3 receiver was having some lockout issues in throttle, so I just switched it out for my trusty ol 149DP... It wasn't real pretty! The model (Hydeaway) was way too responsive. Something in the transition of switching to 1024 from 2048 is a little different. Same goes for programming the 14MZ with data from the 9Z. The rates are not the same. You will immediately feel it!

I meant increased resolution over 1024 PCM systems.

I don't know of anywhere selling the 14MZ without the receiver. Without the G3 2048 receiver though you do not get a lot of the advantages of the 14MZ. One of the major features is the increased resolution over 2048 PCM systems. I have only flown my G3 receiver in a sport plane so far. I do plan when the weather warms up though to fly a flight on my pattern airplane with the G3 receiver, and then immediately put a 149DP 1024 PCM receiver in the plane and test it.

There is no way to directly transfer data from the 9Z to the 14MZ.

Does anyone know where you can just buy the 14mz only, not the transmitter. Secondly, can you transfer data from a 9Z WCII to a 14mz.

Thanks in advance!
