[NSRCA-discussion] Engine cleaning and after run oil

When you use the anti-freeze DON'T let it boil, just let it simmer for a while (most people I've heard of use an old crock pot). I made the mistake of allowing it to boil once and it made the light colored aluminum turn dark and ugly.
Also, be sure to remove all rubber parts before placing anything in the anti-freeze.

Paul,
I've never used the anti-freeze trick, but I've heard it works to boil your engine in it.
As for storage and after run oil, I use the same oil for both storing the motors and as an after run when putting them away for a month or so.
Do not use any petroleum based oil for your YS engines, it will destroy the diaphram in the pump. I use Mobil 1 synthetic for the YS.
Any good after run oil will work in the Webra.

I plan to clean up some engines with antifreeze. Is this a good idea ?
What do you reccommend for a after run / storage oil ? Should it be different for YS 4 strokes and Webra / OS 2 strokes or will the same oil work for both. Should the storage oil and after run be the same or different ?
Thanks,
Paul
