Very nice Bob!
One of the many things Dave Guerin has taught me is to use masking tape for every clamping need possible. I think it would work well hereon the drilling guide. I noticed that Jason taped the canopy in place this year at the Nats instead of using hardware as well!

  Then - my solution to the drilling of those control hardwood dowels so that the holes will be exactly vertical and match on both L and R elevators/ailerons.  It's easy to make, and works quite well.
