Yep that was the only one that I really disagree with. I sure don't build
because I HAVE to, I build because to me, it's art. Probably more like
modern art...some people like it, some people hate it. But for me
personally, building is 50% of the fun. Then I discovered designing too....

And I also have to disagree that there is no real market for scratch
builders. Well, if we as designers set out to get rich, then that's true.
But as a person who's sold out of 3 runs of composites, cores and plans in 2
months, I'd say they're definitely out there. And the number of people who
got plans for the Tempest mods were in the hundreds.

And judging by how many Insights are popping up, I'd say there was
definitely a void where a wood plane needed to be. I don't think it's "the"
answer to anything, just like I don't think giving an ARC Black Magic to the
sportsman champ is "the" answer. I just think they help. They surely can't
hurt. if it motivates 5 people to actually GO to a few contests, that's 5
more than we had.

Also anyone thinking about building from wood will save money, well that's
only partially true. Sure you'll save some, but that really isn't the point.
You have to want to do it. If David doesn't see the point in building one's
own plane from scratch, then I'd guess he also must miss the point of custom
choppers, cars, kit planes (full size), etc. All that says is that time is
more valuable to him is all, and that's fine.

Ok, if I don't get busy and finish these 2 electrics, Emory is going to
string me up.

-Mike
