There is some insulation material at Home Depot, Lowes, etc called "Reflectix" which is basically metalized mylar laminated onto bubble wrap. I've seen it used to make wing bags, and also is the same material used to make windshield screens. I've used it to make window screens for my RV (reflects the sun) and there is no reason it can't be used as you describe. It would be bette than bubble wrap since it also keeps out UV.
