Listen in case nobody has noticed we have a problem with attracting new young interest into pattern. These small electric pattern planes are a great way to get that element into the fold. They are a flat out blast to fly, there simple available and relatively cheap. Look at the explosion that indoor electric pattern is having in Europe. Most are the new wave generation.
The other benefit to them is an educational tool for those who may not know about electric. There simple enough but still have all the same components as there full blown bigger brothers. Certainly worth consideration. Mike

    Mike,

I like the idea. Perhaps an add-on class at the pattern contest and run it at dusk. Base the specific manuevers/classes/event on what stuff shows up. Maybe some simples rules on AUW or max on battery weight (best way I can think of to regulate electric power output) to keep things "mini".

Thanks for the heads up Steve. This should be a good one. These types of planes are good for pattern. I would like to see a mini contest put on with these types of small electric pattern planes. Mike
