Hi Neil and thanks! Thank you also to everyone else that responded-we may have learnt something here!
So if we look at what this says-it could be of some benefit.
I'll mix another batch and see if I can notice it afterall. I like the idea it may retard the Methanol's tendency to absorb water.

Gentlemen,
You may be aware most of us down here mix our own fuel. We have available pure Methanol or a methanol product 'Shell A' which has 3% Acetone in it.
I have added 2-3% acetone into my fuel mix ( I buy pure Methanol) and I'm not sure if I could detect a difference, if any at all. It may have idled a bit better-but it could have been my imagination??
So my question is-what exactly can/does Acetone do in our fuel mixes?? Does it do anything at all??
