Hi Dean....I thought of that too so I soaked a couple of diaphragms in
straight acetone for a week
and I didn't notice any swelling when compared with a new diaphragm.

Hi Tom,
It will swell the silicone diaphrargm in a YS, and cause all sorts of grief.

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Acetone in methanol?
Gentlemen,
You may be aware most of us down here mix our own fuel. We have available
pure Methanol or a methanol product 'Shell A' which has 3% Acetone in it.
I have added 2-3% acetone into my fuel mix ( I buy pure Methanol) and I'm
not sure if I could detect a difference, if any at all. It may have idled a
bit better-but it could have been my imagination??

So my question is-what exactly can/does Acetone do in our fuel mixes?? Does
it do anything at all??

Thanks for any insight.

Tom
