1 C is the standard and for now the packs that we use in pattern the most that could be done at this time would be 2C , but at this time there is only one charger that can do it on only a 5s pack, it can do 1C on the full set for pattern 10s. Your question is a good one when I mentioned the test charging at 3C was test by TP. The really good thing about all this is that the pattern packs don't get burnt up by overcharging as long as cell count is correct, you do have to be careful that some chargers will change the count if the packs haven't been discharged enough. Another good thing about the pattern packs is the 6000 to 5000 packs most people are only using about 70 to 80 % of the capacity which is very good for pack life, just don't fly longer than a certain time, if you fly to long can damage the packs to the point of no return. For some very good reading on Lipo batteries and charging check out http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=129.

Is it possible that a gentle charge will extend the life of the batteries?
