Man Gary,
What's up with all the caps? Aren't we all friends here?
What I had wanted to try this year was the same setup that we had in years past. I believe that the rule was in effect about 5-6 years ago. We used to allow one out of district contest to count towards our district championship points. Now, I think there are some advantages and disadvantages to this. I feel like this helps our pilots that are on the fringes of our district that may not be able to attend 5 in district contests. This was the reason that I wanted to try this again. The disadvantage could be that since you are not necessarily flying against your district peers in an out of district contest, some people may feel isn't fair to count these points towards a championship. I assume that would be your view.
Now, that being said, I am not too proud to back down on this if people are really upset about this change. You always have to remember that this stuff is supposed to be fun. I did consult with the D3 AVP's and Lamar to get their opinions. With the exception of Lamar, no one had any serious concerns about this. My personal view is that I felt this wouldn't make too much difference at the end of the season.
If D3 members would like to contact me, I would prefer that it be to my personal email address so as not to clutter up the NSRCA list. If you like this idea or you don't like it, let me know. I will get a separate, unaffiliated accounting firm to count votes =)
Sincerely,
Emory.

EMORY;
IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT YOU ARE GOING TO LET OUT OF DISTRICT CONTEST POINTS COUNT IN DIST 3. THIS IN MY OPINION IS A BAD IDEA!!!! IT DEFEATS THE NEED FOR DISTRICTS THIS SHOULD BE PUT TO A VOTE BY THE MEMBERSHIP OF DIST 3 AS A HOLE AND NOT BE A LONE EDICT BY THE DIST. 3 PRES. ALL IN DIST THREE SHOULD BE REPRESENTED IN ANY MAJOR CHANGE SUCH AS THIS WITH A VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
