I liked the Radio Shack Color Computer. The schematics were in the Motorola computer chip catalog so I hand built one by wire wrapping. Copied the OS from a real model. Great little unit after increasing the memory.

With all that could be done on a 64K machine... it makes you wonder why they need 1 megabyte just for Windows XP registry with a basic installation (I've seen a 2.5 megabyte registry file...)

I had a C64 for a couple of years . . . ran an operating system called GEOS that actually made it functional for more than games. Had an external 5.25" floppy drive and a Star parallel printer. Those were the days.

Last night my son gave me the coolest Christmas Gift. . . . a brand new (well, kind of). . .Commodore 64 computer!!

He began giggling uncontrollably when I right-clicked on a Windows icon and showed him that it took up a little more than 64K of memory, and that is all the memory the C64 used for everything.

I think he's facinated with a computer that doesn't have storage, sound, or <GASP> a mouse.
