I actually have a sample of this stuff, was looking at using to insulate
some downhole tools (oilfield related).
It is extremely fragile, basically falls apart in your hand. The
insulation has a support material where the aerogel is embedded into it
for the insulating properties.
I could not think of anywhere that we could use it and have it stay
together :) Its deceptively light though :)
