If you fly the plane (use the engine) at least monthly... you don't need after run oil ever.

The problem is... when you plan to fly the plane within a couple of weeks, then life gets in the way and the engine sits unused for several months without the after run oil... The residual fuel (which is not a problem short term) gums up, the bearings rust.... and you may end up with a paperweight.

Same here just the DR. says, 6 years without problems, well bearing every couple of years.

I have been running Cool Power 20% Problend for years in the OS 1.4 with the EFI bearing. When I land after my last flight, I empty the tank with my fuel pump, clean the airplane, put it in the car. The next flying session, I take the plane out of the car, fly. After the last flight, I empty the tank with the fuel pump, clean the airplane, put it in car. This goes on year round. No castor, no after run, etc, etc.

I have been using Cool Power synthetic and add 1-1/2 ozs.of Klotz in every gal. for over 20 years for Rossi's. YS 2C and 4C. And I always run my engine dry at the end of the day, and lube w/ Mobil 1 synthetic. I live in Fl. and in the summer it get's very hot,but the engines run great and the bearing last much longer.
