That ultimate decision is up to the Nats Manager and Director. But in the
past if you showed up and wanted to fly and you were on one of the wrong
assigned frequencies you were not allowed to fly until you changed your
freq. to one of the approved freq. for the class you are flying in. With new
technology will come changes and rewording of rules.
You asked a good legitimate question. I stated what the rules are and
have been.
If you truly plan to attend the nats in '07 you should contact the AMA
and the Nats director to see if they are making any plans to address your
question.. The plans and steps are already in the initial stages of
planning for next years Nats.

So you're saying that if I showed up at the Nats with a Spektrum DX7 radio
in my plane I couldn't fly??

? of course I realize that fact.. The wording as it stand now and in the
past did not allow anyone to use any frequencies except the assigned
frequencies.. As I stated in my original post.. For it to be allowed the
wording has to be changed.. As it stand now on its own merits it would not
be allowed.
It may be easy enough to address but till it is rules are rules...

2.4GHz systems don't have assigned frequencies. . . that is one of the
advantages of the systems. .

To fly at the nats you have to use one of the assigned frequencies. Until
that wording is changed I don't see how they would allow you to use it at
the nats.

Has anyone tried the new spektrum in something other than a small foamie?
What are ya'lls thought on spektrum and can we use them at the Nats.
Thanks Dylan F
