Here is the rules proposal concerning landing direction that was voted on --
It passed

RCA-07-8 – Paragraph 14.1 page 72

Delete the words “and landing” from paragraph 14.1 page 72 in the sentence
“This orientation or Direction of Flight shall be determined by the
direction of takeoff.
Add the following paragraph to page 72.
14.1.1 The pilot or helper may request a different landing direction to that
used for take-off without penalty. If this option is used a maximum of two
(2) passes in front of the judges may be used to position the model for
landing, however, any turns used for positioning the aircraft must not be
made at center.

I have heard that this year landing can be changed from takeoff direction
if wind changes direction and the direction is called prior to landing.
However, I have not seen anything in writing. Therefore, one could say it
is hearsay.

OK, now that we know the landing zone is 15m left and 15m right of center
(poor planes/gears/gear blocks), I thought (or dreamt) that landing
direction was now optional? if the wind changes direction? or something to
that effect? Anyone know?

Jason
