Personnally I just fly the manuver as technically correct as I can.  I let the judge worry about scoring it.

We will always have il-informed judges.  We as pilots should fly  
within the rules and hope the judges are as informed as we.  If we  
try to satisfy what we think the judges want, that's not in the  
rules, we would set ourselves up with a problem, because, if the  
scores aren't what we expect, we wouldn't know where to go from there.
