[NSRCA-discussion] AMA getting desperate?

Reminds me of when a Time Share sales person called and informed me I was
drawn at random to participate in a contest for their grand prize! That's
Right, I could get a free weekend getaway if I could correctly answer their
trivia question... "Who was the first President of the United States?"

In the mid 80's we started getting these calls several times a week so I
started playing along. I pretended that I was excited and I started yelling
"I know I know!!!" Then I answered Abraham Lincoln.

Here's the funny part, she started giving me clues, about four of them,
BLATANT CLUES like initials and finally his first name. After four wrong
answers I finally was forced into answering correctly at which point I
started hooping like I'd won the lottery... Then, of course, there was
nothing else to do but hang up.

Why don't I play along anymore, outside of being older and more cynical now?
One day the phone rang and I saw from the caller ID that it was an
exterminator. I picked up the phone and began to shriek as if in terrible
pain and started hollering "HEEEELP I'M BEING ATTACKED BY BUGS!!!" I hung up
laughing and when I turned around my three kids, ages 1 - 5 were staring at
me with their mouths open completely stunned. I then instantly realized that
kids learn by example... OH CRAP! I immediately said "NEVER DO THAT!", and I
haven't either. (Not yet at least ;-) )
